In the Marshal’s Bootprints – a walking tour

Granite House
>>Ristimäenkatu 5

The two-storey residential building and post office commissioned by commercial councillor David Pulkkinen and designed by Architect Armas J. Rankka was completed in 1912. The upper part of the building was destroyed by the Winter War bombings but it was rebuilt during the interim peace. Marshal Mannerheim lived in the Granite House in Doctor Dahlströms flat in 1941-44. Today the building houses the Mikkeli Art Museum.
