Headquarters Museum
>>Päämajankuja 1-3

The two wooden buildings of the Central Elementary School of Mikkeli (today the Headquarters School) designed by architect A. Loenbohm were completed in 1889. The oldest part of the stone annex from 1902 was designed by architect John l. Lybeck. The building was extended in 1911 and 1935-37.

The whole elementary school complex was in the use of the Headquarters during the last wars. The Commander-in-Chief and his closest co-workers set up offices in the upper elementary school. The Commander-in-Chief Mannerheim’s wartime office was opened to the public in 1974 as the Headquarters Museum.
